A tactile immersive drawing process lead by a concern of materiality. Originally solely a concern of recording my bodily movements during the performance of free flowing drawing, it later become much more about charcoal’s aesthetic, qualities and temporality. I allow the charcoal to both create and control the outcome. The trace and build up of movements are intensified by the materiality, the smudging, the wear, the imperfections of the surface. I experience through the material sensation. I want to purvey a sense of intimacy with the material representation of a process. A medative process firstly decided by impulse, intuition and an internal set of personal rules is now laid bear. The structures start collapsing from within the circular geometric boundaries to create something else to each individual. Starting to break away from solo pieces to individual Arua, not restrained by the repetitive system they where created in.
